Nathan understood this and allowed her to lead their relationship as far as how serious things got and how quickly, and had no issues doing so. Anastasia never wanted commitment as she was more focused on her goal of making it to the Olympics for figure skating, so her schedule was busy and she didn’t want to have to work anyone into her already minimal free time. One of the things I really loved about the relationship was that it progressed naturally. Stassie enjoyed poking at Nathan to see what type of reaction she could get out of him, and Nathan loved her sass and was intrigued by her. They weren’t enemies, but were forced to share an ice rink, which led to a little animosity from Anastasia (Stassie), as she has a strong desire to feel in control of her life, and this messed with her perfectly planned out schedule. Icebreaker was the perfect combination of excellent spicy scenes, and a sweet romance! Icebreaker started off as sort of “antagonists to lovers” for lack of a better phrase. It is a provocative assault, which may account for the polarizing reactions that Heidegger seems to evoke. This means that the scope of ambition of Heidegger's project is staggering he intends to determine WHAT a human being IS, by HOW it is and this means that he not only takes on a nearly 2000-year-old philosophical tradition, but also a nearly 2000-year-old deeply embedded conception of what a human being is (and by extension, what a human being should be). 'To the phenomena themselves') and therefore refuses any recourse to anything that is outside the scope of what is immediately apparent in the one thing that human beings often overlook, that is to say, human existence itself. Heidegger's main focus is on Being what does it MEAN to be? This is of course an old question, stemming from the days of Aristotle, but Heidegger is foremost a phenomenologist (i.e. Even if you are one of the many detractors, the fact remains that it is simply an outstanding monument to man's ability to think deeply, freshly, terrifyingly, and poetically about himself. The most important philosophical work of the 20th century, and a text whose influence will still be felt for some centuries to come, I am willing to reckon. Reading When You Reach Me was a roller-coaster (especially the last part!) and I really recommend it to everyone. The way it all tied up was wonderful and worth all of the confusion the ending really was the best part. It got a little confusing in the middle for me because I couldn't understand why the characters were doing what they were doing, but it all gets brilliantly explained at the end. The novel really conveys the feeling of normalcy it seems like the every-day life of an ordinary middle schooler, but when the future-predictions letters are added into the mix, it feels surreal- almost dream-like.
